Woman At The Well

Having fun with phone photo apps...
and featuring my music as well...Life is good....

Woman At The Well

A dusty road,
The mid-day sun.
Our Lord sits down.
His work’s not done.
He rests alone,
And comes a woman.
“Sir, you are thirsty.”
He says to her,
“Go call your husband.”

So speaks the Lord
Straight to her heart.
A sinner she,
We know the part.
They talk some more
She finds what she sought.
“Sir, You’re a prophet.”
He says to her,
“Drink living water.”

Our Lord has come
To offer each
Eternal life
Within our reach
Come to the well of life eternal
We are open vessels.
Wash away our sin.
Feed us living water.
Fill us to the brim.

A hand pump was the best 'well' I could find in my area....mosaic effect

I really liked this mirrored app!

Lent begins February 13th, Ash Wednesday.
Here's an instrumental and lyrics to address the occasion ♫♪ Joining Alphabe-Thursday Letter L this week,
as well as Inspire Me Monday
(Sometimes the audio cursor needs to be pulled to the right to load)
Or access the instrumental on my song page: I seem to be having technical difficulties with the blog audio!

A Hymn for Ash Wednesday

1. Turn away from sin and
follow the Gospel says the

Lord come and stay in your heart.
Let the Spirit lead you
Home to the Lord. Repent and

Chorus
Turn away from evil.
Follow the Gospel to do
Good in your life.  Seek peace
And a clean heart.

2. Mark of the cross is on you
Ash from the past has found you
As you make your way back
Into the pew this Wednesday.

(Turn away, Turn away,…... turn away)
Mind and explore what faith is
Let the Spirit lead you
Home to the Lord. Repent and

Chorus

Seek God
Turn from selfish actions.
Tend to your response
To His call to reunite your
Heart and soul.

Chorus

God has a plan of action
Pay His son close attention.
He is your heart's attraction
Clear your heart's main affection.
Make an examination
Call to reunite your heart and soul.

Wrestling With A Heart Attack

Participating in ABC Wednesday letter W...with an instrumental for the young at heart♫♪

1. Blond and blue eyed in her jeans, gripping the wheel of her jeep
Casting her eyes down my way making my heart leap.
She passes by smiling and, tapping the horn, it beeps.
I’m on the side lines
with high hopes she will notice me.
Wrestlin’ with my heart,
she hamstrings  me.

Refrain
So wrangle this, and wrangle that.
I’m all a twist. Imagine that.
~
2. Hallways are crowded yet I feel all alone of all things
Books by her desk, she grabs her bag by its purse strings.
She stops to talk, and I am saved the bell, it rings.
I’m on the side lines
with high hopes she will notice me.
Wrestlin’ with my heart,
she hamstrings  me.

Refrain

I’m wrestling with a love attack.
She has me up against my back
She’s tied my heart.  There is no slack.
I hope she will notice me.
Wrestlin’ with my heart,
she hamstrings  me.

So wrangle this, and wrangle that.
I think I’m whipped. Imagine that.
(repeat and mixed)
Wrestling with a love attack. I’m all a twist
She has me up against my back. I’ll wrangle that.
She’s wrestling with a love attack. I think I’m whipped
She has me up against my back.  I’ll wrangle that.

She’s tied my heart
there is no going back.

Dream Quest

An instrumental that I dreamed up♫♪ (For real, I had a dream I was watching one of my songs being recorded and I immediately wrote down these lyrics!)
Problems getting the song to play ?  Try pulling the cursor all the way to the right to get it to load♪
Linking to Alphabe-Thursday Letter D

Refrain:
I woke up and found I’d had a dream,
A vivid little dream.
Effect on me is overwhelming.
You were right outside my open door,
A fact I can’t ignore.
My dream quest is so all consuming.

I am ready now
Believe me
I can say right now
No faking
I’m back on the road to life
I’m taking
You right with me
I am on a dream quest

Refrain

I am on a quest, dream quest.
(mixed)
You’ve always been there.
Showing that you care.
I am now aware.
My quest’s beginning.
I am on a dream quest.

Refrain

I am on a quest, dream quest
(mixed)
I am ready now
Believe me
I can say right now
No faking
I’m back on the road to life
I’m taking
You right with me
I am on a dream quest
~
Refrain (4X)

Change Is In The Air

(You may have to pull the cursor to the right to get it to load)
Participating in Alphabe-Thursday letter C
and Inspire Me Monday
Check out other entries!

1. Listen in as I tell a tale

Of why change is in the air

Refrain:

Feel the shift
Of attitude and understand my place.
I have learned
The ultimate in understanding grace.

2. Used to be that I thought my plans
Were the ticket out of here.
My puny plan just would not congeal.
But I kept on,  I’d persevere.

3. People prayed that I’d find my way
But I scoffed at them. They were weird.
I walked a straight line and faked the good life but
 I really never really understood.

Refrain

Always set the cart before the horse
Instead of just believing.
Evidence is all around me.
Now I have the chance
To change my core.

Revised refrain:
Feel the lift
Of attitude and understanding grace
I have learned
The ultimate in knowing my own place.

4. Daily now I look up to the sky,
I imagine how He’ll appear.
I see the world thru diffr’ent eyes,
The chaos holds no appeal.

5. Navigating thru my life of trials
Is easier you can see.
The change in me is so much better now,
no regrets and no “what ifs “ for me.

Revised refrain
Change is in the air 6X

Thunder in the Mountain

chaotic instrumental....with lyrics attuned to nature's wrath.  See what you think♥
You may need to move the cursor all the way to the right to get it to load.

Time for T....an entry for ABC Wednesday♫♪

1. There may be thunder in the mountains and thunder on the plains,
There may be rocks along the road and heartache down the lane.
Floods run down the hillside and fire takes the trees.
There's times when earth just opens up wide
And swallows all its needs.

You fill my future perfectly.
We can face each others fears,
Even when we're wrapped in
Darkest night.

Refrain:
Thunder in the mountain
Precedes a future imperfect.
Rumbling our world apart,
Our love it will dissect.

Time will be on our side,
As we chart the course of our lives
Hanging on and focused
On our fight.

2. Illness may besiege us or we will face calamity.
We will feel like falling, collapsing to our knees.
We have just a lifetime to meet our destiny.
But know that love will hold together
When thunder claps its hands.

~

Refrain

3. You may hear the thunder pounding through your veins.
As grief has taken hold of your life expanding wounds and pains.
Tears will salt our lifetime, and test our love's stronghold
But we will face the storms together
When thunder traps our peace.

Refrain

Heaven and earth may change their course but we'll pass through it all.
Love is on our side, nothing can penetrate that wall.

You fill my future perfectly.
We can face each other’s fears,
Even when we're wrapped in
Darkest night.

Refrain

Time will be on our side,
As we chart the course of our lives
Hanging on and focused
On our fight.

Refrain (2X)

Thunder in the mountain, love will pass the test
Thunder in the mountain, thunder put to rest.

Raspberry Rain

You may have to move the cursor to the right so it will play all the way through♪

My daughter has begun making up her own piano pieces and I really liked this tune, so I added some instruments and lyrics:  this is the resulting instrumental♫♪
Then I worked on a rainy Saturday and took some photos through my windshield without the wipers going....my postal truck's big windshield makes for a great filter!!!
Participating in ABC Wednesday-Letter R

1. It must have been a blustery day
That threw you in my path to stay.
You make me feel these pelts of rain
That mark my heart with dripping stain.
The gripping storm defines our ties.
The maelstrom strikes beyond your lies.
But I’m not past our drama-rama.

Raspberry rain
Heart soaked with stain
Drizzled with pain.

2. Who said parting is such sweet sorrow?
Words I hoped never to borrow
  Sugar coated rotten tastes
Have caused myself to go to waste.
You’ve ruined me, so here’s the deal
I need time, some time to heal.
My heart’s been crushed to jam-a-rama

Raspberry rain
My heart’s down the drain
~
Splashing through deep puddles
Pulls me under
Cold and to the core
I’m drowning In this downpour
Floods of fallen tears
Break all my barriers...

3. I thought you were protecting me
But I’ll adjust, I’ll learn to be
observant of how things are done
And look out more for number one
I can’t depend, I won’t depend
On being sheltered from the rain.
You can’t be my umbrella fella

Raspberry rain
Heart soaked with stain
Raspberry rain
Heart soaked with stain
Drizzled with pain.

I'll not be your drama momma...

Your Days Are Numbered

A heavy instrumental of dire warnings:
Participating in Alphabe-Thursday letter Y
and Inspire Me Monday...click on the links and join in♫

1. Your Days are numbered.
No matter where you stand
Or how you stand or why you stand,
I know it’s crossed your mind,
That your days are numbered.

Oh, you have made your plans
And if you can, you’ll never have
To bother thinking that it’s
Your days that are numbered.

Chorus:
So open up you eyes and maybe you will realize
The Lord is in your life,
And He has your number.

Your Days Are Numbered (2X)

2. Try to remember.
You think that life’s a pain
And there is nothing to be gained.
Your problems overwhelm and
You can’t remember.

Oh days are speeding by,
And if you think of it you’ll try
To spend some perfect time,
But it’s your days that are numbered.

Chorus:

Your Days Are Numbered (5X)

3. You’re not to surrender
So just make up your mind to view
Your journey’s end is new.
The Word will give your cue,
So do not surrender.

You can persevere
And you will be inspired still,
And you will be relieved
That your days are numbered.

Keep opening your eyes, and now you can realize
The Lord is in your life,
And He has your number.

(mixed)
He has your number. (6X)
(Your days are numbered) (6X)

Not sure if it is an admonishment or an encouragement to Get Right with God, but this Age of Grace has to be nearer to its end than its beginning♫
